Funeral Oration - The Godsend, Communion, Survival & Funeral Oration

Funeral Oration were a hardcore punk band from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, formed in 1983 and split up in 1999.
The band started off in 1983 releasing a few demo tapes and long since out of print albums that never gained any attention outside of the local scene in Amsterdam.

After the release of their second LP in 1987 another 7-inch EP, "The More We Know", was released in 1989 and at the end of the year material for a new album was recorded, but a hiatus in the band caused its late release. "Say No To Life" LP was finally put out in 1993 on WRF Records.
This record gave a hint of what would become their definitive sound in the 1990s catchier melodies and better production, still keeping the edge of their previous albums.
After almost five years of silence the band recorded their CD debut "Punk Rock Nation". The album was released by WRF Records in 1994.

In the mid-1990s, the launch of American punk label Hopeless Records brought a request to have the band revived for a second run. The band recorded three albums for Hopeless, along with a discography collection. Funeral Oration called it quits for a second time in 1999.
