Deep Wound were an American hardcore punk band formed in 1982 in Westfield, Massachusetts.
They released one self-titled 7", a demo tape and contributed two songs to the compilation LP Bands That Could Be God. The band disbanded in 1984 when two of its members, J Mascis and Lou Barlow, would form Dinosaur Jr..

Black Flag were an American hardcore punk band formed in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, California. They are widely considered to be one of the first hardcore punk bands as well as one of the pioneers of post-hardcore.
Black Flag played its final show on 27 June 1986 in Detroit, Michigan. The band broke up in August 1986.
Black Flag's sound mixed the raw simplicity of the Ramones with atonal guitar solos and, in later years, frequent tempo shifts. The lyrics were written mostly by Ginn, and like other punk bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s, Black Flag voiced an anti-authoritarian and nonconformist message, in songs punctuated with descriptions of social isolation, neurosis, poverty and paranoia. These themes were explored further when Henry Rollins joined the band as lead singer in 1981. Most of the band's material was released on Ginn's independent record label SST Records.
"Damaged" is the debut studio album by Black Flag, released in December 1981 on SST Records and reissued in 1990 on SST Records.

"Everything Went Black" is a compilation album by Black Flag, released in 1982 on SST Records and reissued in 1995 on SST Records.
The compilation comprises early songs recorded before Henry Rollins (Henry Lawrence Garfield) became the band's vocalist in 1981 and was initially released without the band's name on its cover, due to their lawsuit with MCA/Unicorn for breach of copyright. The ruling prohibited the band from releasing any music using the Black Flag name or logo.
