D.I. - Ancient Artifacts, Horse Bites Dog Cries & Team Goon



D.I. are an American hardcore punk band formed in 1981 in Fullerton, California. Since its formation, D.I. has had many lineup changes over the years with Casey Royer being the only constant member of the band.
The band has continued to work, although they have had inactive periods, which include the band going on hiatus between albums.
The band's name stands for "Drug Ideology". D.I. combined the Orange County hardcore punk sound with a decidedly surf and new wave style.

"Ancient Artifacts" is the first studio album by D.I., released in 1985 on Greenworld Records and Reject Records. The album was reissued in 1994 on Triple X Records with six bonus live tracks.

"Horse Bites Dog Cries" is the second studio album by D.I., released in 1986 on Greenworld Records and Reject Records. The album was reissued in 1994 on Triple X Records with one bonus track.
"Horse Bites Dog Cries" was the final album featuring the Agnew brothers and drummer John Knight.

"Team Goon" was originally released on 12" vinyl in 1983 as simply "D.I." on Revenge Records. The album was later reissued on vinyl, CD and cassette in 1987 as "Team Goon" with bonus material.
"D.I" was recorded by the band's early lineup of Casey Royer on vocals, Tim Maag on guitar, Fredric Taccone on bass and Derek O'Brien on drums.

The four additional tracks:
the first three - "Nuclear Funeral", "The Saint" and a cover version of Gary Glitter's "Rock And Roll Part II" - were recorded by the band's mid-1980s lineup of Royer, John Bosco, Steve Garcia, Rikk and Alfie Agnew, while the fourth - a cover version of Devo's "Uncontrollable Urge" - was recorded by the late-1980s lineup of Royer, John Bosco, Steve Drt, Sean Elliott and Hedge.
