Gepøpel were a hardcore punk band from Volendam, The Netherlands. The band formed in 1982 and split up in 1985.
Gepøpel started as a one-man production. Niels de Wit played all the instruments on two tapes and also made the booklets.
In 1983 Gepøpel became a real band, first in Niels' home town of Volendam, then joining the Amsterdam punk scene. By this time Erik Jansen and Wil Steinhauser had joined.

"The Compact 2 Tone Story" is a compilation 4 CD box set, released in 1993 on Chrysalis and Two-Tone Records.
The box set collects the A-side and B-side of every single released on the label.
Both sides of the Dutch Concrete Jungle single plus both tracks from the free single which accompanied initial copies of More Specials are also included. The Bodysnatchers live version of 007 is the only unreleased track in the set, however it did previously appear in the film Dance Craze, but failed to make it on to the films soundtrack album.
Each of the CDs comes in its own mini 2 Tone sleeve and an A5 version of George Marshalls book The Two Tone Story is also included.
