Shudder To Think - Curses, Spells, Voodoo, Mooses, Funeral At The Movies & Ten Spot and Get Your Goat

Shudder To Think were an indie rock band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1986.
In 1984, bassist Stuart Hill formed the hardcore punk band Stüge. Shortly after, the band changed its name to Shudder to Think, after Russell said that he “shuddered to think that we would be just another hardcore band” during a drive to practice. It was this lineup and name change that drove the band to abandon its previous hardcore influenced sound to something more akin to post-hardcore.

They released three albums on Dischord Records and two on Epic Records. Their early work was largely influenced by hardcore punk, although they gradually drew upon a wide range of stylistic influences, including power pop and glam rock.
Swiz ex-bassist Nathan Larson and ex-Jawbox drummer Adam Wade replaced Matthews and Russell in 1992 on guitar and drums. Matthews and Russell last performed live with the band on 1 January 1992 and 28 June 1992, as announced by Wedren to the crowd during those concerts.
However, 1998 marked Larson's departure and the end of the band.

Gray Matter - Food For Thought + Take It Back, 4 Songs & Thog

Gray Matter were a Washington, D.C. based hardcore punk band.
The band formed in the summer of 1983. Geoff Turner, Mark Haggerty and Dante Ferrando had been playing in bands since their early junior high school days. Shortly thereafter, Mark left the band to go to college and Gray Matter broke up. Dante went on to play drums for Ignition and Geoff, Steve and Mark reunited and formed the band Three, with Jeff Nelson from Minor Threat.
