Circle Jerks - Group Sex, Wild In The Streets & Golden Shower Of Hits

Circle Jerks were an American hardcore punk band, formed in 1979 in Los Angeles by Keith Morris and Greg Hetson.
Morris had previously been a vocalist for Black Flag and Hetson had been a guitarist for Red Cross. Both bands practiced at a rehearsal space called The Church, located in Hermosa Beach, California.
Morris and Hetson quit their bands at about the same time, but for opposite reasons: Morris felt Black Flag practiced too much and Hetson felt Red Cross didn't practice enough.
Circle Jerks quickly rose in popularity due to their hyperspeed music and energetic performances, but their habit of re-using music and lyrics from their previous bands did not win them many fans among their former band mates.

The band broke up and re-formed three times, sometimes with different bassists and drummers. They disbanded for the first time after the release of their fifth album, 1987's "VI".

Band members:
Keith Morris - vocals
Greg Hetson - guitar
Roger Rogerson - bass
Lucky Lehrer - drums.

"Group Sex" by Circle Jerks is the debut studio album, released in 1980 on Frontier Records. The release consists of 14 songs in 16 minutes and is considered to be a landmark album in hardcore punk. The album was reissued in 1997 on Frontier Records.

Circle Jerks' "Wild In The Streets" is the second studio album, released in 1982 on Faulty Products. The album was reissued in 1997 on Epitaph.

Faulty Products ceased operations several months after its release, forcing Circle Jerks to seek their third record deal in as many years. While they regained the copyright to "Wild In The Streets", the original stereo master tape was lost, forcing the band to remix it from the multi-track tapes when they reissued the album in 1988 on Frontier Records, both on its own in cassette and vinyl formats, and paired with the band's debut album as "Group Sex/Wild In The Streets" on CD.

It was the band's last album to feature the band's original rhythm section of bassist Roger Rogerson and drummer Lucky Lehrer. Lehrer was fired in the middle of recording the album and John Ingram was hired to finish the recording.
